Asheville... the most musical little mountain town out there!

You can find a bluegrass jam, a folk singer, an Americana star, or a street busker any night of the week in this town. They say you can shake acoustic musicians from the trees.... the music scene here is tough to break into, the standards are high the judgement is fierce, and there's almost always someone better willing to play it for free.... Asheville.

What a week! Music Must-Sees.....

WEDNESDAY:

Blue Jeans & Khaki Pants @ The Pisgah Brewery
WARNING: Although this is country music... some of it is X-rated!

Fronted by local sound guy, engineer extraordinaire, Russel Anders, this is a country band, that makes you feel just a little uncomfortable.... in the best way possible.
According to Pisgah Brewing's website:
Blue Jeans & Khaki Pants makes their stateside debut with their aptly titled “Banned In Forty States”. Following their wild commercial successes and constant touring of Japan the last 6 years, the group rebanded and decided that America was (almost) ready for the most rude and crude country album to be released in years. Pulling no punches, the group is making a name for itself with its sometimes witty, sometimes dark, but always fucked up rockin’ country stylings. Remember, this is not your grandparent’s country!! Rated XXX for content, we recommend this “family night” entertainment for anyone living in sin, a single wide, or making their living cruising the local truck stop parking lot.

Show is FREE--- nothing to lose. Tonight at 6:30pm with food by The Half Shell

Shelby, NC
This is a bit of a drive... but two amazing singers... one a Grammy winner... it's within range.

This almost goes with out saying.... this is going to be amazing! Two of my favorite bluegrass musicians, one of which (Bryan Sutton) born and raised right here in Western North Carolina, Hominy Valley to be exact, combining forces at the Grey Eagle. I recently had the pleasure of seeing them perform together in Nashville, and it was incredible. Master's of their instruments, and Tim O'Brien's pitch-perfect singing will make for an exceptional night of music.
9pm $25  Fully-seated show

Thurs- Sun... Can't forget about L.E.A.F

With the Indigo Girls headlining, and other personal favorites like the Wood Brothers... how can you decide what to do!?!?!?
